Oklahoma Teen Boot Camps

Oklahoma Boot Camps: The Modern Approach To Reform

Oklahoma boot camps attracted a reputation for harsh treatment of enrolled teens in the 1980s and 1990s. They earned it as a result of consistent shouting, threats and programs designed to introduce discipline. Unfortunately, this was the wrong way to go about it all and this put parents off at the time. It still does today but times have most definitely changed. Instead of offering the same treatment today, Oklahoma boot camps have changed. They now incorporate the same routine and strict structure but introduce it via counseling, group activities and education.

Bye Bye Military Regime!

Oklahoma boot camps are no longer governed by the same military regime that they were under all those years ago. Although they incorporate the structure, which has been proven to work as a result of extensive research, they do not hold to the idea of little contact earns respect. Although boot camps establish authority, they also bring with it a confidante that will work with your teen from start to finish. This trained counselor will gain the trust of your teen and introduce tailored programs to facilitate recovery.

Any Oklahoma boot camps programs that are used will incorporate one on one sessions, group therapy, team building exercises, community projects, fun activities and a little education. As such, they now provide the most rounded recovery programs you can imagine. They have realized that most teens that could be described as troubled have lost confidence in the people around them and in themselves and so aim to build up that confidence again rather than knocking it down to establish authority.

As you can see, Oklahoma boot camps are still no picnic but they are very different than they were 20 years ago. Now reform is the key but in a more human way that the teens can relate to. If they can relate then they will stand a much better chance of leading a productive life as a valued member of society.

Do you believe your child needs help, does he or she need "a lesson" or "to get some discipline"?
