Oklahoma boot camps attracted a reputation for harsh treatment of enrolled teens in the 1980s and 1990s. They earned it as a result of consistent shouting, threats and programs designed to introduce discipline. Unfortunately, this was the wrong way to go about it all and this put parents off at the time. It still does today but times have most definitely changed.
